EcoSide Seattle

EcoSide is a small, family-owned business that specializes in siding replacement and repair in Seattle, Washington. In early 2021 Maxtana Creative met with the owner to talk about marketing their business.

The Challenge

For over ten years, the company relied solely on leads from Angie’s List and word-of-mouth to reach potential customers. It had been a good arrangement—that is until Angie’s List rebranded itself as Angi.com.

Angi.com had shifted its focus from contractors to more robust offerings for homeowners like booking appointments, making payments, and getting home maintenance advice. Unfortunately, EcoSide, like many contractors, saw a dramatic drop in referrals from the new Angi, and business started to slow down.

During our conversation, I learned that EcoSide didn’t have a website; they had never needed one. After further assessment of the business, and a quick look at the competition, I determined that a website and a solid SEO strategy would be the best solution. I put together a plan that would help them reach new customers and fit into their budget.

The Solution

I started with a light brand refresh. EcoSide didn’t have an official logo, so I designed a simple, versatile set of logo variations and formalized their color palette. With the brand foundation in place, I began designing and building their first-ever website.

The website quickly proved its value. Within six months of launch, EcoSide was capturing nearly 100% of new business directly through the site. Two key features contributed to that success: the Siding Replacement Calculator and the EcoSide Blog.

The Calculator allows potential customers to get a quick, self-service estimate based on the real pricing data EcoSide uses for its jobs—removing friction and giving homeowners immediate clarity.

The Blog provides helpful, homeowner-focused content and supports ongoing SEO. One of the most-viewed posts to date explains why Angie’s List changed its name, a topic that resonated strongly with EcoSide’s audience.

Because EcoSide is a small operation without internal marketing staff, I also provided an ongoing maintenance package that includes site updates, continuous SEO optimization, and monthly blog posts. This ensures their content stays fresh and their search performance continues to strengthen over time.
